DPF Failure
A three year old evoque, 66 plate. We have had it for 1.5 years and today we have been told that the DPF has failed. Our car was taken by recovery to our local Range Rover dealership, Watford on Tuesday. It took them three days to take into the workshop . It does have extended warranty . We had no warning signs on the dash and now we have a bill of £1,920 from the dealers today.
Under the advice from myself , I requested a claim to warranty to be put forward. The adviser told me you don’t have warranty, I nearly lost it . I advised that he check my file. Anyway they did submit it and it got declined. However I spoke with warranty dept after and the actual manufacture and they confirmed that this is a common problem and have received a vast amount of issues . I was also intially told by the manufacture that it was down to the style of driving. I questioned this by saying ‘ so it my driving ?
They told me that the evoque needs to be driven at a minimum of 60mph to keep the DPF in working condition and that it’s not suited for urban driving. We were not advised this at the time of purchase in Maidstone, Guys & Salmons.
I believe this is not down to my driving and that there is a fault in the manufacturing . No warning signs, not even amber, MOT was done in September 2019.
Service Manager had intervened from Watford dealership where my car is. Informing us they have submitted a claim to Land Rover to consider a good will gesture to cover the cost of replacing the DPF. We have to wait till Monday.
i have had Diesel cars in the past with DPF, never encountered this problem. I will never ever purchase a Range Rover again. Constant lies from different departments, to cover their backs. The only honest department being warranty, They proved to be very helpful and honest.
Had the same pb with my RRS autobiography. Lost my gearbox at 100.000 km and the engine at 140.000. After mounting my new engine ( orig) I’ve encountered countless troubles with DPF . Changed sensors after sensor. Finally I’ve been told that the SW is a shitty one. Like the manufacturer’s attitude to our problems. Never recommending to buy a land rover car. I’ve payed over 147kE for a piece of shit. Shame on them.
